GIUSEPPE CORTESE Barbaresco Rabajà Riserva DOCG 2016 – 94 points (releasing on 2023)
“Cortese’s 2016 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà is powerful and translucent, a beguiling combination to say the least. Rose petal, sage, mint, licorice and anise are finely knit in this deceptively mid-weight Barbaresco. I would cellar the 2016 for at least a few years, as the grippy tannins are quite present at this stage.”

GIUSEPPE CORTESE Barbaresco Rabajà DOCG 2018 – 93 points
“The 2018 Barbaresco Rabajà is surprisingly accessible for a wine that tends to be much more backward in the early going. Spice, blood orange and star anise give the aromatics tremendous expansiveness. On the palate, the 2018 is pliant and sweet, with lovely purity in its red-toned fruit. I am intrigued to see how it develops in bottle.”

GIUSEPPE CORTESE Barbaresco DOCG 2018 – 91 points
“The 2018 Barbaresco is fruity and easy to like; all of which make it an excellent choice for drinking now and over the next decade. Sweet red berry fruit and floral notes are laced together in this translucent, enticing Barbaresco from Cortese. The 2018 is not terribly complex, but it is well balanced and harmonious from start to finish.”
