BARBARESCO RABAJA' RISERVA

“Barbaresco: Worlds Apart” – Antonio Galloni

GIUSEPPE CORTESE Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà 2011 – 94+ points  “The 2011 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà opens with captivating aromatics. Sweet rose petal, mint, anise, sweet red cherry, plum and pomegranate are all infused in a silky, nuanced Barbaresco with a good deal of brightness. The 2011 finishes with striking aromatic presence and tons of expressive floral notes. It is a gorgeous wine in the making. Pier Carlo Cortese gave this fruit approximately 25-30 days on the skins and the wine spent about 40 months in cask.”

GIUSEPPE CORTESE Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà 2013 – 93-95 points (Barrel Sample) “Still in barrel, the 2013 Barbaresco Riserva Rabajà comes across as quite brooding in this tasting. The dark, balsamic-inflected aromas and flavors depict a rich, authoritative Barbaresco. Ample and voluptuous, the 2013 offers notable potential, with scents of saddle leather, menthol, pine and licorice that linger on the finish. This is going to be a fascinating wine to follow over the coming years.”
